I also had wrist/hand/arm pain after my child was born. My mom has carpal tunnel and I'm pretty sure I've got it too. I am a petite female and this worked better than any female-specific wrist support I tried. I've purchased at least 4 brands, and used only this one. Highly recommend!

The black may be ugly, but you don't want a lighter color as these things get dirty.

Pros:
- Excellent pain relief
- Easy to put on
- Right or Left Hand
- Cost Effective with S&H

Cons:
- The unused thumb hole is a little unsightly
- Very tight if worn for extended periods
- Splint in palm makes some tasks difficult
- No illustrated user guide, I used the Amazon photo instead

I damaged my right wrist loading large (14" Lg x 12-24" Dia) log blocks into my pickup. Since I'd just purchased a new chainsaw, I didn't want to stop and I took a fly on this wrist brace. I've now done two loads of blocks with the brace and I'm amazed, no additional pain. I expect in a few weeks all the pain will be gone.

Diagnosed with carpal tunnel and advised to do several things, one of which was getting a wrist support for my right hand. I did a lot of research before making the purchase and decided to try this product. It is exactly what I wanted. Something that did the job, day and night, of supporting my wrist at work (lots of typing) and that I could actually wear easily with an outfit that looked as "unnoticeable" as possible and was not "bulky". I got it in black and have found it is very easy to wear, is no more noticeable than a dark "glove", is easy to take on and off and to wear under jackets, etc... (not bulky. I found it is relatively small compared to other similar products so it is not awkward on the wrist. It is somewhat flexible, but keeps my wrist stable, and the adjustable velcro straps are easy to adjust for comfort so it's not too tight. Your skin can breathe well in it too. It is also very comfortable at night and light weight. I highly recommend this product.

Wrist Brace Wrist Splint With Fixed

I got this to reduce the use of my thumb due to mommy's thumb. I didn't wear this that much as it was kind restricting especially for typing and mousing. It does a good job bracing your wrist and thumb. After about 2 weeks of periodic use, the nylon mess was seperating from the seam where the metal plate inserts into. Package was boxed and professional, but build quality is not superior. I would not recommend this.

treatment For a Sprained Wrist

A sprained wrist is very painful, especially if you do not rest the hand. If you expect to get full use of your wrist back, make sure you allow it some time to recover from the injury. Following the proper steps, a sprained wrist will swiftly recover.

Apply an ice pack to it. Ice your wrist as soon as possible after you sprain it. It will prevent the swelling. An ice pack will work double duty because it numbs and stabilizes. The ice wrap should enlarge from the hand to the elbow. A too tight wrap is bad for the circulation so make sure you keep it only snug. It is leading to put ice on a sprained wrist.

Raise the wrist and arm. Keep your wrist raised with some pillows while you keep the sprain iced. With a sling or cushion, make sure your whole arm stays elevated above the position of your heart. Your arm will need to remain in this state for seventy-two hours or more.

Relax your wrists. It's leading that you give it a rest. Your wrist will want some days to heal, and if you keep demanding that your wrist be fully utilized, the saving you seek will be prolonged. Make sure you avoid using your sprained wrist for as long as possible, at least a few days if you can manage. Your wrist's tendons and muscles will better recover with more rest.

Don't go near the heat at the beginning. It is imperative to keep your sprained and swollen wrist as far away from heat as possible while in the medical process. Heat will make the location come to be swollen, which means further pain for your wrist that is already hurting badly. Don't cozy up to the fire, and in general, try to keep your sprained wrist at body temperature or cooler. Your wrist will continue to swell if exposed to heat so avoid at all costs.

After a few of days, moderate heat will help. After the inflammation recedes from your wrist, some moist heat should furnish relief. Make sure the wet towel is warm before applying it.  Apply this to your wrist for a period of thirty minutes. Doing this should alleviate some pain around the sprain location.

Slowly increase the whole you use your wrist. 3-5 days is the mean whole of time for your sprained wrist to stop hurting so deeply. Only begin to use your wrist again when you are comfortable, and do it slowly. If you push it too hard, then you are likely to injure it again and make the saving process longer. When you begin using your wrist, don't use it to its full possible for the first couple weeks. (You'll get a feeling for when it's safe to take off the sling, the ice and the warmth and start using your sprained wrist again - but be sure it is when you no longer feel ache when you employ your wrist).

The 1 and Only hypothesize to Wear a Wrist Splint For Carpal Tunnel

The 1 and Only hypothesize to Wear a Wrist Splint For Carpal Tunnel

Almost every singular man suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome will be told by their doctor to wear a wrist splint or brace. Splints are an lawful first line of defense against the progression of repetitive strain 'injury' (Rsi).

Ironically, the only thing that wrist splints do is prolong a person's suffering. Splints and braces don't help a Rsi heal. They don't make things better. They don't work hand in hand with Rest to sacrifice the problem.

Here is what the Doctors hope the splint will do:
Help stabilize your wrist buildings so it won't take more damage. Support the buildings so it won't have to work so hard. Protect the wrist buildings for supplementary damage.
Here is what wrist splints unmistakably do:
Stabilize your wrist so it does less work, and gets less circulation. Trick you into mental you're great because you feel less pain. Allow you to work harder and longer before the pain increases again, even though the Pain Causing Dynamic is entrenching itself deeper and deeper into your forearm and wrist.

Wrist splints are a stop gap measure. And an ineffective measure. I hear stories of people wearing their wrist splints for years. This doesn't sound like much of a treatment formula to me. Sounds like using duct tape to keep your broken down car running longer. It doesn't mean it's fixed.

In my pro conception there is only one situation where the use of a wrist splint or wrist brace is acceptable. And that situation is wearing a night splint, or wearing a wrist splint at night while you sleep.

And this is only a good idea for up to two weeks. If you are still in pain and 'needing' a splint after two weeks, you aren't using the right tools to fix your problem.

Night splints are good, temporary tools you can use to support you body to feel better. Because of how the Carpal Tunnel dynamic works, muscles get tighter and tighter and tighter. Even when you sleep at night, your muscles are still being tight and working hard.

This means that people's fingers and wrist(s) curl in to a claw, or a fist, with the wrist bent. This contracts the muscles even more and restricts circulation and other things that make people wake up in the night with increased pain and numbness.

Night Splints keep the wrist and fingers straight, which keeps the muscles lengthened, which helps the body get circulation where it needs to go and helps counter the nervous system's payment to tighten everything up even more.

Wrist Splints and Night Splints have become something people depend on just to barely keep them going. This is a shame, because they have never been told about methods that are unmistakably effective at reversing the Carpal Tunnel Dynamic and getting them pain free again.

There is only one good suspect to wear night splints for Carpal Tunnel sufferers, and that is for holding your wrists and fingers level while you sleep. Even that should only be done for up to two weeks, because you should be back to close to normal by then.
